Dragons in a Winter Wonderland by P.A. Woodburn

Synopsis:
On a very hot day, two young dragons go out for a walk. They accidentally go through a portal to another world. Suddenly they find themselves lost in a strange, cold world of snow and ice. Too young to fly and unable to climb up the slippery slope they are afraid that they will not be able to find their way home.

My Thoughts:
I read this for the 2012 ebook challenge. Dragons in a Winter Wonderland is a great story to read to your children before they go to bed. It is a cute story, but it doesn't really have an educational lesson in it. Freddie and Alice's father specifically warn them to stay away from the door. However, when they go through the door and come back to their father, they aren't scolded at all. Instead, they are rewarded by getting to spend Christmas with their new friends. I personally think that teaches children that if they don't listen to their parents, there will be no consequences.  The one thing this story teaches a little is the value of friendship, with everyone helping out getting the Christmas tree. The illustrations are very cute. This is a story that will entertain younger children during the winter.

I give Dragons in a Winter Wonderland: 2/5.
