What is the longest book you have ever read? How long did it take you to read it?
My answer is:
Under the Dome by Stephen King. It was 1,072 pages and took me two weeks to read. It was a great book, although the middle was a little too slow for my taste.
What's the longest book you've ever read? Leave me an answer in the comments.
really, what is it with Mr. King and these Giant Books?
ReplyDeleteHe usually does write pretty big books. If you're looking for something shorter, he has a novella called The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. It's really good as well.
DeleteI need to read that one soon, it's been on my TBR shelf for a while now. I love Stephen King :) My copy is only around 800 pages, though.

I have the hardcover first edition. I loved Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I read it in under a day, and it was well worth it.
DeleteI haven't read Under the Dome yet. I'm a new follower. here's my MM: http://meganm922.blogspot.com/2012/06/musing-mondays.html
ReplyDeleteIt's really good. I haven't read the Bible the whole way through yet, but I've read bits and pieces.
DeleteMy longest book was King's The Stand. I have yet to read Dome.
ReplyDeleteThe Stand is on my tbr list. I hope to read it pretty soon. My husband and I have two copies of it.
DeleteOh, I know that King does do giant books...I recently read his 849 page 11/22/63...but here's MY MUSING MONDAYS POST
ReplyDeleteI haven't read 11/22/63 yet, but it's on my tbr list. I've been wanting to read Gone with the Wind for a long time.
DeleteWow that is a loooong book. I can't imagine writing something that long lol. My Musing Monday
ReplyDeleteI love the Harry Potter series. Stephen King has wrote several books almost that long.
DeleteStephen King has written several long ones...I haven't read The Stand or Under the Dome...his newest one is shorter, at 849 pages, which I read in between other reads.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY MUSING MONDAYS POST
Wow, I didn't know about Under the Dome. I learned something new. :-)
ReplyDeleteUnder the Dome is great. I definitely recommend it.
DeleteI think the longest book I read was "Gotham" which is a non-fiction book. The history of New York from the Dutch through the 19th century. A little over 1400 pages. I think it took about 3 weeks to read- but I usually have 10 or so other books going. It took me a while to read it because it wasn't an ebook and I had to read it sitting at a desk because it was too heavy. Not only a huge number of pages, but it was an oversized book. Very good, though, won the Pulitzer for History.
